George Sr.'s death in the upcoming Season 7 of Young Sheldon may be inevitable. Young Sheldon has been a smash hit, airing since 2017, and has been renewed through at least Season 7 by the host network, CBS. While earlier seasons of the show took a lighter, comedic approach to the Cooper family and Sheldon's antics, seasons 5 and 6 have been getting significantly heavier.
Between Mary getting kicked out of the church, Georgie lying to and then accidentally getting Mandy pregnant, and George Sr.
losing his job, it has taken a bit of a turn from the family comedy it premiered as. Unfortunately, The Big Bang Theory has already set up the next couple of years for the Cooper family, and things are not about to get easier. George Sr.'s death has been pending since Young Sheldon first aired, but it now appears that Season 7 may be his last.
Because of The Big Bang Theory, it is known that George Senior dies when Sheldon is fourteen. While the actor, Iain Armitage, is fourteen in real life, the writers of the hit prequel have kept his age in the show closer to 12 for season 6. It is clear that they are trying to delay telling the inevitable story of killing off George Sr.
