"Benedict Bridgerton has been unmasked as next season’s newest suitor," Netflix announced in a tantalizing teaser, showing Benedict preparing for a grand masquerade ball, a setting that holds a special significance for fans familiar with Julia Quinn's novels.
“The fourth season of Bridgerton turns its focus to bohemian second son Benedict," the official synopsis teases. "Despite his elder and younger brothers both being happily married, Benedict is loath to settle down—until he meets a captivating Lady in Silver at his mother’s masquerade ball.”
Luke Thompson, the charming actor who brings Benedict to life, hinted at the exciting possibilities ahead for his character.
“Weirdly, though, what the show seems to be exploring with Benedict is that love is finite, actually," he shared. "Our bandwidth is finite, and you have to [make] space for other things and be ready for something else to happen.”
In Julia Quinn's third novel, "An Offer From a Gentleman," Benedict's love story takes a decidedly Cinderella-esque turn.
