Ariana Grande and Jonathan Bailey were recently spotted filming scenes together on the set of the movie adaptation of the Broadway musical Wicked. Grande, dressed as Glinda, sported a tiara, gown, and sparkly scepter, while Bailey, set to play Fiyero, wore a green-and-gold ensemble. The "7 Rings" singer has been seen filming in Buckingham, England, multiple times. Photos published by The Daily Mail also show Cynthia Erivo, who plays the lead character Elphaba, filming scenes in character. At CinemaCon 2023, Universal Pictures showed surprise footage of the upcoming movie, including Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible. Director Jon M. Chu revealed that the movie was being filmed without CGI or blue screens to create a fully immersive experience. He also highlighted the movie's themes of change and improvement. Prior to the presentation, Chu had shared stills of Grande and Erivo in character, teasing fans about the film. Wicked: Part 1 is set to be released on November 27, 2024.
