Hold the phone and grab the smelling salts, "Bridgerton" fans, because Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton, our favorite onscreen (and maybe offscreen?) couple, have done it again! They've given us another dose of their adorable, undeniable chemistry, and this time it involves some very telling seating arrangements.
Sofa Snuggles vs. The Dreaded Chair Divide
It all went down during a recent interview to promote the swoon-worthy third season of "Bridgerton." The interviewer, bless their soul, dared to separate Nicola and Luke, placing them in individual chairs.
But as any fan worth their weight in Lady Whistledown gossip knows, separating these two is like trying to untangle a particularly complicated knot of ribbons.
"Oh, will I have to sit on the front?" Nicola joked, playfully highlighting the awkward distance between her and Luke.
Fans, of course, went wild. "Never give them two chairs!" one fan commented, perfectly capturing the collective sentiment.
Hand Holding and the Friend Zone: A "Bridgerton" Interview Special
As if the chair fiasco wasn't enough to send fans into a frenzy, the interview took a turn for the even more revealing when the topic of hand-holding came up.
"It feels different, yeah," Nicola admitted, referring to holding Luke's hand.
"Different?" Luke questioned, a playful smirk dancing on his lips. "Different good or different…?"
Cue the collective gasps and squeals from fans around the world! Before things got too out of hand (pun very much intended), Nicola clarified, "Different good, of course!"
And just in case there was any doubt left about their undeniable connection, the interview ended with a rapid-fire question round where Nicola and Luke, without hesitation, both chose "love" over "friend zone.
Body Language Experts Assemble: These Two Can't Sit Straight (and We Love It)
Even when forced into separate chairs, Nicola and Luke couldn't resist the gravitational pull towards each other. Photos from the interview show them leaning in, making eye contact, and generally radiating the kind of energy that could power a small city (a small city fueled by love and longing glances, obviously).
"They gravitate towards each other like it's a natural law," one observant fan commented.
And when the cameras weren't rolling, Nicola and Luke were spotted back in their natural habitat – a plush sofa, nestled close together like two peas in a pod (a very attractive, charming pod that we wouldn't mind being trapped in, but that's just us).
The Verdict: Keep Them Close, Keep Us Entertained
So, there you have it. Another day, another interview, and another reason for "Polin" fans to believe that their favorite bookish couple might just be destined for happily ever after, both on and off the screen.
And to all future interviewers: please, we beg of you, just give them the sofa. You know they want it. We know they want it. And frankly, it's far more entertaining for the rest of us.
