Chevrolet released the RPO 580, the 409ci high-performance engine, in December 1960 alongside the new Super Sport appearance option. The engine was designed for NASCAR and soon became popular among drag racers as well. The Impala, featuring a 409/409 V8 engine with 409 rated horsepower, is an original Code 950 Tuxedo Black car with a white roof finish and Code 874 red interior.
It retains its original, corrosion-free sheet metal and is equipped with modern amenities such as a remote sound system and security by Lojack. The car is in superior overall condition with correct seats, carpeting, door panels, headliner, sun visors, and rubber floor mats.
