Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly in pole position to secure Julian Nagelsmann's appointment as their new manager. Spurs have held talks with the former Bayern Munich head coach, but Nagelsmann is waiting to see who will be appointed as the club's next sporting director and wants assurances over his control of recruitment before deciding on any formal approach.
Tottenham believe they are unlikely to face competition from other clubs for Nagelsmann. Bayern Munich would still be owed a compensation package of around £10m if Nagelsmann takes the job. Feyenoord head coach Arne Slot is another candidate, but he would also require assurances about his level of control.
