"I love having a dog on set," Newton confessed. "It makes me feel like I'm at home."

"One time, there was a lot of barking during a scene," Newton recalled with a chuckle.

When asked about the most influential person in his life, Newton's answer was immediate and heartfelt: "My granddad.
