Hold onto your hats, folks, because things are about to get juicy! Jensen Ackles, everyone's favorite demon-hunting, superhero-playing heartthrob, is making headlines for an old interview that's resurfaced and gone viral. And let's just say, it involves some serious Hollywood shade thrown at none other than Jessica Alba.
Remember the sci-fi action series "Dark Angel"? Turns out, things weren't so angelic behind the scenes, at least according to Ackles.
"She had it out for me," Ackles admitted, describing their dynamic as "the worst kind of bickering a brother and sister could do." Ackles joined "Dark Angel" in its second season as Alec, a genetically-enhanced clone who caught the eye of Alba's Max Guevara. But according to Ackles, the on-screen chemistry didn't translate off-screen.
Ackles attributed some of the tension to the immense pressure Alba was under as the young star of a hit show. "She was young, she was in a relationship [with co-star Michael Weatherly] that was rocky and causing some stress," he explained.
But even with the understanding of a stressful set, Ackles didn't hold back on painting a picture of Alba's on-set behavior. He joked, "I was the new, fresh face on the set… Like 'oh, here’s the pretty boy the network brought in for more window dressing.'"
How did he deal with it? "Fight fire with fire," Ackles revealed.
The internet, naturally, exploded upon the reemergence of this interview. Fans are eating up the behind-the-scenes drama, with some even adding fuel to the fire by referencing alleged on-set incidents where Alba reportedly interfered with storylines involving Ackles's character due to her real-life romance with Weatherly.
But before we brand Alba as a full-blown diva, Ackles does admit there were good times too.
"If she walked in, we’d be all hugs," he shared, painting a picture of a complex relationship that swung between animosity and warmth. "But," he added with a telling grin, "she didn’t make it easy on me."
This recent buzz only adds to the intrigue surrounding Ackles, who's experiencing a career resurgence with his role as the wonderfully unhinged Soldier Boy in "The Boys." And while Alba has taken a step back from the spotlight, this juicy bit of Hollywood history serves as a reminder that what we see on screen isn't always a reflection of what goes on when the cameras stop rolling.
